Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston Killed at the Battle of Shiloh?

Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston did not surrender at the Battle of Shiloh. In fact, he was killed in action on April 6, 1862, the first day of the battle.

Johnston was the commander of the Mississippi Confederate Army and Ulysses S. Pardon.

During the battle, Johnston was shot in the leg and bled to death before he could receive medical attention. His death was a great loss to the Confederate Army, as he was one of the Confederates' most experienced and capable generals.

After Johnston's death, Confederate command at Shilo passed to his General P.G.T. Beauregard. The Confederates fought hard in both days of the battle, but were ultimately unable to defeat the Union forces. Beauregard ordered a retreat on April 7, and the battle ended in a Union victory.

It is therefore not correct to say that General Albert surrendered to Sidney Johnston at the Battle of Shiloh. for he was killed on the first day of the battle.
